This year on the 5th of June we celebrate “World Environment Day”. For the UN, 2020 is ’“Time for nature”, with a focus on biodiversity; a concern both urgent and existential. Human actions, including deforestation, encroachment on wildlife habitats, intensified agriculture, and acceleration of climate change, have pushed nature to its limit.
It would take 1.6 Earths to meet the current demands that humans make on nature.
Tourism is one of the largest industries in the world. According to the UNWTO, it has a huge impact economically, socially and environmentally.
So, more and more we need to work towards a more sustainable industry.
